I'm back, so to speak. Been doing alot of thinking lately. Been doing alot of drinking too....LOL!!!
The basement is perfect. I still don't have it set up the way I would like, but it's getting there. So far the first part of 09 has been pretty rough. We had an ice storm a week ago and were without power for 5 days. I live in a rural area and it was colder than shit in the house. I was unprepared. We lost power on a Tuesday night. I thought nothing of it and went to sleep thinking the power would be back in the morning. Boy was I wrong. My whole town was out and they were saying that it could take up to a week for full restoration.
The temps outside were in the teens at best and below at night. I had to find a way to heat my house or we would freeze to death, not to mention the pipes would burst. I didn't have the money for a generator, so I decided on getting a couple kerosene heaters.
Now, the whole town was out, the whole area was out. I think I would have had a better chance hitting the lotto than buying a kerosene heater. I had this lame brained idea I would try candles.......ya I know. My lady said the same thing. I went out and got about 80 candles, needles to say they didn't work. A friend of mine did not have power as well, but he had 2 gas fireplaces. He invited me and the lady over, I declined because of our dog. He is a real asshole to strangers. My buddy did have 2 kerosene heaters though. He let me borrow them.
Man. Those heaters saved my ass. It was toasty warm in our pad. I went over a couple times and checked on our neighbors, he went out a got a generator. They were cool. Everybody else on our street split. So that week was boring as hell. I had this little black and white TV powered by batteries that we were watching and shit. I didn't drink no beers. Was going too, but figured I better keep my wits in case something happened.
Well, we have now had our power back on for 3 days. I am still a little worried about losing it again. Those heaters are standing at the ready if I do, along with the little TV.
This is never going to happen again. I WILL BE PREPARED!!
That's it. Gotta work tonight, this is my Monday, so tossing back a few is gonna have to wait.
I just hope the power remains stable.

Happy Holidays!!
Well, it's been awhile since my last post. Been doing some imbibing in the basement. Not alot mind you. I have been busy getting crap ready for Christmas, now that it's over I can rest. My girl had the whole upstairs decked out. I could not believe it. I kept asking her where she had all of the crap at? We did not have this much put up last year in the shit hole. But all things aside. We had a pretty good Christmas. I got exactly what I wanted. 4 brand spanking new tires for my truck!!!! I needed them. My girl asked me last month what I wanted, that's what I said. She did'nt want to buy them for me, but I persisted. I dropped about 350 bucks on her and the dog. We had a good Christmas. Now I have New Years and our birthdays to look forward too. We ain't doing anything for New Years, we are gonna stay home. I may get ripped, I'm not sure yet. I probably will have a couple dozen beers, probably. Whats really cool is our birthdays. They are right after one another. Hers first, then mine the next day. I ain't shitting you. Well, I'm at work posting this. So I'm signing off. I may do a live broadcast New Years on my radio station, who knows. Well time for some coffee!

Finally Some PICS

I finally got around to taking a few pics. I had to use my crappy cell phone, I don't have a better camera as of yet. These will give you guys an idea of what my Bar/Music rooms like anyways. The shelf that is holding the boomboxes right now is going to be holding all of my vinyl as soon as I get them all out or their boxes. I have some records out and have been listening to them. I am going to keep the short shelves how they are. They will be used for equipment. I plan on hanging a 40 inch flat screen in about the area where the clock is right now.
I have been spending alot of time down here. I like it. My lady is playing that dam game, so she stays out of my hair. I can't complain. Well that's sorta what my little cave looks like for now. I got some big plans and will be building it up little by little in the coming months. Stay Tuned.
Well, time for a beer!!

More Memories
I still can't get over this site. This site rocks. Here is another classic from the 80's. This is Ratt. These guys could really rock. Back in then the Metal scene was alot different. It was not called "Glam" Metal then, just Metal. The whole point of a music video was to sell records. Well, the whole reason I watched these videos, and still do can be boiled down to 2 things really. The tunes rock, but that's not the big reason. The Rock Sluts man......that's it. All those fine lookin babes plus good tunes. A teenage guy could not ask for more. There was no strip club in my town, so this was the next best thing. Below is another fine example of Rock Sluts in action.
Nothin but the best!!!!
Enjoy!

MTV plays music videos now?
MTV has redeemed themselves!!! It looks as if they have opened up their entire catalog of music videos for us all to watch online. This site has them all. I applaud MTV, looks like they have finally gotten back to what they were all about from the start. Music Videos!!! I have spent at least 3 hours on this site so far, and it looks as if they are all here. My favorite music is from the 80's. That's when I grew up, so i can tell you, this is classic MTV at it's best. To bad Martha Quinn, Nina Blackwood and the rest of the first VJ's arn't on there as well. You can't have everything I suppose. You can also embed vidoes as well. I leave you guys with one of my favorites. Yes-Owner Of A Lonely Heart.
- Enjoy!!!
Trunk Or Treat?
WTF?
Halloween is gone and past. I had 6 kids show up at my house. That was cool. The lady and myself had decided awhile ago to give out dollar store toys instead of candy, so I had this big bin full of cheap crap for the kids to dig through and pick out something. We over did it. We only had six kids, no I got a big bin full of dollar store crap!!
I drove past these 2 churches Halloween eve that were advertising Trunk Or Treat. It works this way I think. You park your car, open your trunk, and the kids walk from car to car and trick or treat. WTF is that!
Todays kids or soo lazy that the candy is being delivered to them now!!!! I don't believe it.
I can understand my nieghborhood. The houses are spread apart, very spread apart. I would say it's a good 30 yards between them at least. So yeah, that's a trek, but sheesh, in other nieghborhoods the houses are pretty close together.
I don't know. I think we live in an over-sensitive society. We are catering to these kids too much I think. I'm not a parent. Don't wanna be. But I think some of these so called parents worship their kids. The little darlings can do no wrong. That's bullshit.
My niece and nephew are prime examples of this. These kids have got it made. Thier parents at one time did not believe in spankings. If the kids were little assholes, they were sent to their rooms. Now, I can agree to this sorta. I was sent to my room on occasion when I was a child and it was considered punishment. In these two kids cases I would have to disagree. In their rooms they each have a TV, DVD player, Video Games...etc. This ain't punishment!!!!
Who knows, I do know this. I'm glad I'm not a parent!!!

WOW
I hooked up the web for my girl the other day. She used to play World Of Warcraft. She stated to me when she used to rag on me that she wanted the web to look up planting supplies. Did she actually think that I would believe that. She has been logged onto World Of Warcraft for almost 2 days now. Non stop.
I used to play that game. I got her started in it. I figured that would be a good activity we both could share and do together. I could not have been further from the truth. She always wanted to go off and do her own thing. So, I let her. No biggie. She slowed me down anyway.
Well, I have grown up, so to speak. I have not logged into that infernal game for over a year now. I have uninstalled it from my PC and I have moved on. Looking back, I can not believe how much time I wasted on that game. WOW was not the first game like that that I have played. I started Everquest when it first was released back in the day. I was addicted to that.
I can see the draw that these games have to people, especially reclusive people. Me, I hate people to begin with. I could care less if I talk to anybody or not. When I did play those games, I soloed. I did not group with people.
A year ago when my girl was playing her game, and we were arguing about it, she said to me that the only way she feels normal is when playing that game. That scares me. Should I just cut the web, and not have it in the house. I know that she will do nothing but play that game. I am at a loss. Maybe I just may bring my girl back to realality and tell her to quit, or we are through. I don't know.
